After three seasons at Miami Ink, Kat left the show and studio, moving her work back to her California based studio, High Voltage Tattoo. The studio became the centre of filming for Kat Von D’s spin off LA Ink, which quickly become more popular than it’s sister show.
While filming LA Ink, many people helped her create an incredible 24 hour experience. Kat Von D set the record for the most tattoos created in a 24 hour period. Over 400 people walked out of High Voltage Studio on that fateful day with a tattoo from Kat Von D. The record has since been smashed, and in fact has been doubled by another tattooist. However, Kat Von D will always remain a champion, and after all, quantity ultimately fails to dominate when compared to quality.

Even Dakota Fanning was lucky enough to have an, albeit fake tattoo from Kat Von D; as a stunt pulled on an American show.
